A m a n i ~ A l w a d i

Anyone else absolutely shocked by how much weight they’ve put on in the last few months?! Lockdown really got me eating like I've never saw seen food before and baking like I own a damn cake shop!

So now I’m sadly doing damage control and trying to watch my portions and do home workouts on a daily basis [PRAY FOR ME!] Thinking of trying intermittent fasting x

speaking of watching my calories, Let me share with you guys an amazing brand called @skinnyfoodsco, they create amazing sauces, syrups, chocolates spreads, etc that are ZERO CALORIES, SUGAR-FREE AND FAT-FREE!! yes, you read that right! They kindly offered me 3 syrups and 1 sauce to try out 💞

Honestly, I never thought I'd have the opportunity to work with a hair care brand, especially as muslim who wears the hijab! so I was very excited when @CelMD_Beauty reached out to me for a review of their hair  care products. So let's get into it !!

Cel is an American hair care and skin care brand! They have recently launched in the UK and were kind enough to ask me for a review of their hair products ahead of their launch [check out my instagram post for this here!]

The products they kindly sent were;
Microstem Shampoo and Conditioner
Microstem Hair thickening mask
Microstem Hair stimulation serum

Microstem Shampoo and Conditioner:

Typically when it comes to shampoo, I'm not too fussed as long it gets the dirt out of my hair/scalp and does NOT contain any harsh chemicals such as paraben and sulphate - which is exactly what this shampoo provides.

Now, the conditioner is where all my attention goes! conditioner adds the much needed moisture in your hair and then seals it!! A quick tip from me is to focus your conditioner towards the ends of your hair strands because that is the oldest part of your hair, needs that love and moisture to protect it from damage and breakage!!

Both the shampoo and conditioner work so nicely together, gave my hair such a beautiful shine, lots of moisture and smoothness. Both products are great for strengthening and protecting hair from day to day damage and promote new hair growth!

Also they provided actual pumps separately in the box for the shampoo & conditioner which makes it easy to pump out the products for daily use but then you can switch back to the lid, perfect for travel.

Hair thickening mask

This mask was honestly amazing! From the first use I noticed my hair was so much less frizzier and felt so much more hydrated and my curls we defined! I have curly hair and this mask definitely has helped to tame my curls. If you have dry/damaged hair, I would definitely recommend this mask to you ! Same as the conditioner, I concentrate the mask on the ends of my hair but still making sure every hair strand is covered!

Hair stimulation serum

This is supposedly really good for hair loss and promoting new hair growth. I've been using it around my hair line since mine is thin [cry face] - I have not been using this as consistently as I should, so I feel I can't give a full a review just yet but so far it's really nice and it is oil based so feels very moisturising on the scalp.  it comes with a precision applicator so you can focus the serum directly to your scalp and simply message it! I actually realised I don't massage my scalp enough and I have been told its important to do that every now and then to help hair growth!!

I will be using this consistently moving forward. I shall be back with an update for you guys :)

I have to say, Cel have some brilliant hair care product! They implement the use of scientifically enhanced natural  ingredients and plant extracts in their products to promote healthy hair! Also not forgetting to mention that all their products are suitable for ALL hair types! Many times I've looked at products that sounded great but were not suitable for my hair. So, it's exciting to see a brand be inclusive to all hair types! So yes to my fellow blacks girl, they are definitely black girl friendly!!

Thank you so much @CelMd_Beauty - find all their products and more on their website here

You can find them on instagram here!

Hello lovelies!

So many of you don't know this but I actually started my whole blog because of my love of fashion! More than anything else anyway. I remember the days when I was in secondary school and my favourite  thing to do once I got home was get on the laptop, and catch up on my favourite bloggers! Shirley B. Eniang and Sammi Maria were my tops faves!! I used to be on their blogs religiously wishing I could have their wardrobe!

I took a step back and realised I haven't posted anything to do with fashion for such a long time! So I am definitely ready to bring that vibe back on my blog! Of course I will still continue to do my reviews here and there, I've definitely grown to love sharing lifestyle posts!

Although I wasn't planning to post this so soon, as I wanted to do a proper photoshoot in a cute location. I took these outfit pictures the other day and I thought why not share them on here! So heres's a basic outfit to show what I managed to put together when i was rush to get out the house [Took the photos after i got back]

Outfit details!

The Black denim jacket is from @NewLook. This jacket is really popular and i have seen ALOT of people rocking this same one. Honestly I feel like it fits every season so I'm glad i purchased.. this was ages ago by the way. My White turtle neck top is from @DorothyPerkins. We all need a basic Turtle neck like this tbh.

Safe to say the skirt is makes this out whole outfit. I got this one from @Primark! Fell in love with it instantly and ended getting this beige colour and one in black! who doesn't love a ribbed skirt. My boots are from @TopShop, I managed to snag them on sale during the summer actually. So comfortable and stylish :) Lastly, my bag is from @Primark. I needed a new everyday bag i can just grab and go but I didn't want to get be safe and get another black one.

Also got the earrings from primary! you can't see them clearly at all here but they are so cute! I will have to share a closeup of them in another outfit post :)

Gifted.

They say learning a new language is the easiest when you are a child! And @LittleMaysoor makes that learning more fun and beneficial with their amazing bilingual Arabic and English learning books and toys!

They were kind enough to send a generous package with a few of  their products to review. I have a 5 year old brother who started going to Arabic school, so I knew these books were going to be perfect for him and I was definitely right!

A @Phizzical Production written by Shahid Iqbal Khan and directed by Samir Bhamra
 Hello Lovelies!

I got the amazing chance to go down to the @BelgradeTheatre in Coventry to watch the Stardust production! Honestly I was excited from the moment I was asked to go down. I've been to the Belgrade theatre many times with both family and friends! Even on school trips back in the day and watching my little sister perform at the @BelgradeTheater which was amazing. So, as you can imagine I was very pleased to get an invite to come down on their press night and watch Stardust!

Hello Lovelies!

Here to share my lovely experience at the @StarbucksCovBroadgate event I went to! It was really good and I left feeling like I knew something about coffee which was cool! Honestly I never thought I'd be going to an event at Starbucks, so it is definitely an experience I will remember!
⁣⁣

Starbucks Coffee

Upon arrival we got to choose our own drink off the menu. I got to try the Cookies and Cream Frappe! I wanted to go for something other than the usual caramel frappe that I get [that I love so much]. The Cookies and Cream Frappe was really delicious! ⁣⁣⁣would recommend!

The lovely Starbucks team laid a beautiful table for us,  Spread with different treats that  compliment different coffees. This was also done to get us all to take on coffee tasting!!

I’ve never done coffee tasting before so it was exciting ! We were talked though/showed the ‘etiquette’ of coffee tasting which was interesting! ⁣⁣⁣

We tried 3 different types of coffees and were encouraged to challenge our taste buds and see if we could pick up a specific taste in each coffee. I won't lie I was pretty bad at picking up the different tastes, Just tasted different degrees of bitterness...But i have to say, that was all fun and it was nice seeing everyone’s reactions/thoughts on each coffee and pairing each food with the coffee!

⁣⁣⁣ Starbucks Vegan Menu!

When I do go into Starbucks usually I just grab a quick takeaway drink [my lovely caramel frappe] and go. So I was definitely excited to see what they had to offer on their Lunch Menu! they do have to some lovely options suitable for both vegetarians and vegans, as well as some meat options too!

They offer a range of Sandwiches [See link here], two types of salads [Chicken Salad | Vegan Roasted vegetable Salad],  two wraps [Chicken wrap | Vegan Beetroot ] and the Vegan Mac and Cheese! Looking at the menu I gravitated towards the Vegan Mac or the tuna melt panini because I've never tried either of those [I am shocked too]

I chose to go with the tuna melt panini, it was really good! Got me wondering why I’ve never had a tuna melt before! Will definitely be getting this again! I also got a bite of the Vegan Mac  [Thanks Emily aha] which tasted really good to be honest! I definitely want to go back and have it for myself!

Latte Art
Once we finished stuffing our faces, we got to watch some latte art being done! which was really cool! Finally got an insight into how it's done but let me tell you it ain’t easy! might give it a go at home but a already know i'll be making frogs instead of beautiful swans...

I got to leave the event with a really nice matcha latte, which I am now SO obsessed with!! We also got to leave the event with a really nice personalised goodie bag! love it.

I love how the @StarbucksCovBroadgate team but so much thought and effort into the event, made everything so much better. Very much appreciated.  The team were so lovely and friendly. Thank you so much @StarbucksCovBroadgate for having us ! Also the staff were extremely friendly and made the experience great. And thank you @CovBloggers @TheEmilyChapters

Helloo lovelies

Hoping you’re doing amazing ! Who would have thought little me would be going to an event at Wagamamas?!?! Insane.

I’m gonna share with you guys the AMAZING food I had at the Wagamama event with the @CovBloggers ! We were invited to try out their new vegan menu focusing on their vegan starters and desserts!  So excited and I hope you enjoy reading this.

Wagamama is one of my favourite places to go if I’m being honest. When I go there I know I’m gonna enjoy what I eat ! Although I’m only limited to the veg/vegan options - Wagamama is still so good and they serve such a great variety that is suitable for everyone!

So to begin with they had us taste some ginger and turmeric kombucha... which I did not like ! I get it has benefits and all behind it but safe to say I won’t be trying that again. Not a fan.

Luckily I also got the peach iced tea! probably the best peach iced tea you’ll have to be honest!

VEGAN STARTERS
Following that we were served some vegan starters/appetisers which I was so excited for as it was part of their new menu. We had salted Edamame, bang bang cauliflower and Hirata steamed buns filled with mixed mushroom and panko aubergine.

The edamame was nice ! Absolutely failed trying it for the first time as I was basically chewing the skin ... yeah don’t judge.

Bang Bang Cauliflower
Now The bang bang cauliflower was just sublime !! Absolutely LOVED it. Tastiest cauliflower I’ve EVER had. It was coated in the delicous firecracker sauce, So it is a little bit spicy but great for me. The next time you go Wagamama definitely try this, you won’t regret it.

We got to try the amazing Hirata steamed buns! Hand down my favourite and I’m definitely going back to have it again. So tasty and beautifully cooked. I’ve never had Hirata steamed buns before and it really is everything!! We had it filled with mixed mushroom & panko aubergine as part of trying the vegan menu. However they do actually offer more fillings including Korean barbecue beef, seasoned crispy chicken etc so there’s really something for everyone.

Hirata Steamed Bun Filled with Mixed Mushrooms and Panko Aubergine

The Avant Gard'n

Lastly (for starters), we were served their NEW vegan Kokoro bowl named The Avant Gard’n, made in collaboration with Gaz Oakley. This is composed of delicious barbecue glazed seitan, sriracha vegan “egg”, shiitake mushrooms and asparagus over brown rice. honestly I really liked this dish! The barbecue seitan was the best part for me but everything together tasted great. I wasn’t the biggest fan of the vegan “egg” - the texture and taste (more so after taste) I did not like. The rice was also really nice and well made. I would recommend the dish to be honest because I did really enjoy everything else ! The other girls did like the vegan egg so it’s just down to personal taste really !

The Avant Gard'n

MAIN
After trying the amazing starters and The Avant Gard’n, we all chose our mains - I of course went for my FAVOURITE which is the Yasai  Katsu Curry! with extra sweet potato and curry sauce. If you don’t know about this dish you are definitely missing out !! Absolutely enjoyed it. 10/10 would recommend. Craving this now damn it.

Hello lovelies!

I hope you're all doing great! I haven't been as consistent with putting out blog posts as much as I wanted but life just happens sometimes! Not only that but I also decided to take a break/detox from social media and blogging. I think it's really healthy for everyone to do that every now and then for your own mental health!

And also, it’s Ramadan!!! Ramadan Mubarak to my Muslim followers/readers! Due to fasting for such long hours during the day [sunrise to sunset] I've been trying to take it easy and not overdo things. Fasting is slowly starting to get easier now so I can back to doing things as usual!

CovBloggers summer party!
Honestly, I am SO excited to share this blog post with you guys because it's something that I've really wanted to do since I heard it existed, to be honest! I had the amazing opportunity to visit the @EscapeReality_Coventry with the @CovBloggers girls for a summer party! I was counting down the days until the event was going to happen if I'm being honest aha :)
Escape Realty Coventry
Escape Reality is basically an 'escape game' where you and your group of friends have to try and escape the room your locked in by finding clues, looking out for hints and solving a series of puzzles and riddles! We had to escape within 60minutes to win or otherwise be classed as a fail.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff, who were super friendly! We were offered drinks before starting, which was a lovely opportunity to catch-up with the girls. Soon after, we were split into two teams of 3! Myself, Aliyah [@Aliyah_zz.Makeup] and Gemma [@Just_Gem_Blog] were put together to have a go at escaping the "JUNGALA" room

The theme behind the JUNGALA room is based around a mysterious old board game found in an attic, that once played... transports the players into an alternative realm! From where they have to complete the game to escape and get back to reality! Sounds so cool, doesn’t it?

I won’t say too much about the room because I wouldn’t want to spoil it for anyone! Once the rules were explained in detailed, we were taken into the room, I felt like I stepped into a game or a movie set – the set up was so cool! What I will say is prepare to be surprised, spooked! needing a flashlight...  and maybe a few things making you JUMP!! Don’t worry though nothing terrifying because this room is actually suitable for children! Interestingly we were told that children do so much better in this room compared to adults. So, to think like a child was tactic we were advised to do!

Did We Escape??
Wow! the escape was definitely intense! lots of frustrations, confusion but I honestly loved every moment! It's crazy how it gets your adrenaline going and your mind becomes super observant to all your surroundings! I think our team did so good! Every time we solved a puzzle, found a clue or unlocked something we were SO ecstatic! The feeling of putting 2 and 2 together and solving something makes you feel so capable and brainy- felt like a true detective! Aaliyah and Gemma were honestly the perfect team members! so smart!

We did manage to escape the room! …. but unfortunately, because it took us over 60 minutes and sadly that doesn’t class as an escape! But we were only over by 5 minutes! So we were honestly so proud of how well we did!

I cannot wait to visit @EscapeReality_Coventry again very soon and I'm so determined to escape in under 60 minutes!  So happy that we have something like this in Coventry! They offer various game rooms, each with a special theme and varying difficulty levels.  I Definitely want to try 'Down the rabbit hole' room next!

Gather your best friends and head down to your nearest Escape Reality! honestly, it's an amazing experience you won't regret. You and your friends will have so much fun! You can find your nearest Escape Reality through their website,  I've linked below along with their Instagram!

Thank you so much @EscapeReality_Coventry for having the @CovBloggers. I think I can speak for everyone by saying we had such a great time!
Tell me, have you done an escape room game before? Did you escape? Regardless let me know your thoughts on this post and games such as this!
